(poem) Imagine


Who knows how one pair of eyes
Can hold so much soul, so much wonder
One can only ponder
How they have so much depth so young
An astounding imagination
You can see the Indiana Jones adventure
Or the princess in her tower, just looking into those eyes
Shining so bright, with hope and pleasure
So much in someone so small
A mind that bests any adult's 
Creative hands, make their own Van Gogh
Just through a glob of finger paint
Small hand inside yours
So fragile, yet so strong
The wonderment of being so young
The magic that's inside them
Look into a child's eyes
See everything you wish you still had

One of the most popular diet options is the “Keto Diet”. What does “keto” really mean though? A life for a life  They change mine  And I'll change theirs  They'll make me some kind of hero  Their strength will make me stronger  My plan is bigger than social work  The real plan is change  Change for the child with the bruised face  Change for the child with real monsters at night  Change for the child with the gaunt face  Change for the children that need an escape  I dream of the day I won't have to save the poor children in need I dream of children in safe homes  With food, shelter, a chance and love  The "social worker" label I'll wear with pride I'll fight my way through school  So I can meet the children, have them change my life  So I can change theirs too *2014- Bailey C. (content/blog writing sample) East Tawas, Michigan

I had the pleasure of taking an excursion to the city of East Tawas, located in the northeastern region in the lower peninsula of Michigan. The city has a bustling downtown area that has multiple local businesses that help contribute to the tourist economy that the city thrives off of. I found joy in visiting a local chocolatier that had many unique takes on traditional chocolate treats. I visited some of the other local shops that sold products made by artisans throughout Michigan. There was everything from the traditional "Lake Life" t-shirts to specialty cherry wines made in Michigan. I was also captivated by a beautiful mural that was painted on the bricks of one of the stores: a fun scene that takes place in the serenity of Lake Huron, a carefree woman parasails through the waves while other colorful parasails float on in the background.
